In 4040 A.D, after decades at war with an enigmatic alien race, the greatest civilisation in Aquarian history fell to a mysterious wave of destruction rupturing through subspace. Eridonia, the capital world of the Old Federation, fell in hours. Some 400 years later, the descendants of the old Aquarian Government, now flying the flag of the Aquarian Terran Imperial States, comb the ruins looking for relics of the past, the Old Federation and the mysterious energy that brought humanity to its knees.
