Screw Crapvid-19. And Screw its Proteins, too.

I don't want people searching for it to come to my blog! Better go somewhere where there is actual information on the subject! But anyway, Screw this virus and screw its proteins.

Earlier in the year I switched my World Community Grid Compute Farm to a fully Crapvid-19 diet for a few weeks. Now it is time to do that again. I have also 'tweaked' clock speeds (>:D They may have gone up) on a few of my processors.

Excluding two more Ryzen 7 2700s and my 3400G from this meme (they do great work, too!) since there wasn't enough Super Wedge Men in the scene, this will have to do:

That's right. The Farm is now back on its fully, 100% Crapvid-19 diet. All 70 cores, 140 threads of it.

A few of the processors have had their frequency and voltage tuned. And by tuned, I mean increased. Not quite overclocking, since these numbers are quite modest still, but I should be looking at at least 10% increased crunching performance from that alone. The power bill can wait for a few months; I'll pay the extra bill just for the opportunity to sock it to Crapvid-19 with SCIENCE!

  • Ryzen Threadripper 2950X (16-core): 4.0 - 4.05 GHz all core (PBO, 225W PPT)

  • Ryzen Threadripper 1920X (12-core): 3.9 GHz all core (Manual, 1.28V)

  • Ryzen 7 2700 (8-core) #1: 3.1-3.3 GHz All core (stock, no change, VRM can't handle it).

  • Ryzen 7 2700 (8-core) #2: 3.6 GHz all core (Manual, 1.125V)

  • Ryzen 7 2700 (8-core) #3: 3.6 GHz all core (Manual, 1.125V)

  • Ryzen 7 2700 (8-core) #4: 3.6 GHz all core (Manual, 1.125V)

  • Ryzen 5 2600X (6-core): 3.8-4.0 GHz all core (stock, no change, clocks high enough)

  • Ryzen 5 3400G (4-core): 4.0-4.05 GHz all core (stock, no change, clocks high enough)

On top of that, I've got some GPUs doing Folding At Home work, which is mixed but they do have Crapvid-19 Work Units. I am donating to FAH until WCG gets OpenPandemics's GPU-acceleration up and running, then switching all GPUs to a full Crapvid-19 diet.

  • Radeon RX 590 (36 CU, 2304 SP): 1500 MHz (manual, 1.16V - power hungry and the chip hates me, but YOLO).

  • GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER (22 SM, 1408 SP) 2000 MHz (~) (manual, 1.03V)

  • GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER (20 SM, 1280 SP) 2000 MHz (~) (manual, 1.05V)

Also on the subject of GPUs: Watch this space. Sash might have something cool coming soon.

Hint it's not an RTX 3080. xD
