The MPM-7 is the upper-middle class variant in the versatile Multi-Purpose Missile series, originally developed in the New Federal Era by the United Aquarian Systems as an all-purpose armament for strike-craft. The MPM-7 provides an adequate compromise between payload capacity and relatively low-mass for general purpose deployment in space or atmospheric conditions against essentially any target.

While generally too large to be deployed as an ATGM for surface vehicles, the MPM-7 is utilised by dedicated tactical missile systems such as the T-4406 MMS, or in an surface-to-orbit anti-strike-craft capability.
