(UK1) L2906 Handheld Plasma Launcher

Working on broadly the same principles as the ship based variants, these firearms are bulky, hard to manoeuvre and ineffective at distance. However they are absolutely lethal in close quarters, where most armour simply can't stand up to the heat and force that the weapon inflicts.

While this has fallen by the wayside, owing to issues in carrying, manual of arms and maintenance, it's still used in some cases for interior/shipboard clearing, as nothing can resolve an issue quite like Superheated Plasma.
