(ATIS) AIN PIC-A1 A-type Polarytic Impulse Cannon Turret

An experimental A-type turret equipped with the Imperial Navy's advanced, experimental Polarytic Impulse Cannon. This weapon system is not currently widely deployed on AIN warships as it is still undergoing test trials. A small number of bleeding-edge warship designs have been modified to act as test-beds for the PIC-A1 weapon, as it is not compatible with the standardised A-type platform due to the immense power requirements it demands from the vessel's Capacitor Array.
PIC-A1 is expected to be officially adopted by the AIN in the coming decades, where it will augment, not replace, the existing IMPAC-2 Particle Cannons with an emphasis on close-range anti-capital ship operations with extreme destructive power. This is in contrast to the IMPAC-2's emphasis on extreme long-range and accurate fire, at the expense of overall destructive capability.
This is amongst many new developments, such as the HPC-1 Plasma Turret, being trialled by the Imperial Navy to better counter the Tyandirric Fleets amassing beyond the Angel-Crimson Pass.
